Wade Lawrence Schewe

Wade Lawrence Schewe, age 64, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Health System- Austin. He was born on February 27, 1960, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Keith and Deanna (Bustad) Schewe. He grew up in Chatfield until moving to Blooming Prairie as a child where he graduated from Blooming Prairie High School. He married the love of his life, Valerie Olson, on December 6, 1980, at Crane Chapel in Austin and the two began building their young family. They welcomed their three daughters into the world, Amanda, Serena, and Heather, and one who passed away in infancy.

Wade enjoyed his work as a Front-End Mechanic at Crown Cork and Seal in Owatonna for 15 years. Prior to that he was at King Company for 15 years and Prairie Concrete. In his free time, he loved spending time with his girls and teaching them to be self-sufficient. He also loved ATV trips, attending auctions, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with family.  He was known to his loved ones as a “jack of all trades”.

Wade is survived by his loving wife, Valerie; daughters, Amanda (Derek) Lagervall, Serena (William) Moor, Heather (Justin) Pater; grandchildren, Lucy, Claire, Violet, Jocelyn, Hailey, Maverick, Colton; great-grandchild, Jonah; mother, Deanna; brothers, Darrick (Wendy) Schewe, Daniel (Kasee) Schewe; and sisters, Christine (Brian) Wencl, Wendy (Bradley) Hines, and Kelly (Lance) Saathoff. He was preceded in death by his father, Keith; and an infant daughter.

The funeral service for Wade will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin. The visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
