Vanessa Marie Miller

Vanessa Marie Miller, age 44, of Blooming Prairie, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in Austin, Minnesota. She was born on January 8, 1982, in Austin, to John and Deb (Campbell) Newman.

Vanessa graduated from Austin High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in foreign languages from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. She worked in several roles throughout her life, including at Applebee’s in Austin, Hy‑Vee, and as a caretaker for disabled individuals. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and watching her favorite show, Criminal Minds.

She married Mark Miller, on March 15, 2004, in Jacksonville, North Carolina and together had four children.

Vanessa is survived by her mother, Deb Newman of Austin; husband, Mark Miller of Blooming Prairie; children, Avery, Sierra, Emma, and Ely Miller; and her siblings, Tiffany Newman, Ashley Newman, and Jordan Newman.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Newman; her paternal grandparents, John and Marilyn Newman; and her maternal grandparents, Helen and Maynard “Smokey” Campbell.
