Troy Michael Riles, age 58, of Dexter, Minnesota, passed away on December 21, 2025. Troy was born on June 11, 1967, in Austin, Minnesota, to Karen Carlson (Jay) and David Riles (Cheryl). He grew up surrounded by family and shared close bonds with his brothers and sisters that lasted throughout his life.
He was a graduate of DeVry Institute and spent his working years as an iron worker, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication. Troy was known for his great sense of humor and his ability to bring laughter to those around him. He enjoyed fishing, discussing politics and world affairs, and spending time with family and friends. Most importantly, he enjoyed being a father to his daughter, Miranda Riles. He was a lover of pets and loved spending time with his dog Luna and his two lizards Lemmy and Lizzy.
Troy knew how to bring out the strength in the people close to him and was the strongest man you knew.
Troy is survived by his daughter, Miranda Riles (Johnny DeLosSantos); his parents, Karen Carlson (Jay) and stepmother, Cheryl; his brothers, Ken Riles (Aileen) and Jeff Riles; his sisters, Melissa Riles and Katie Magnuson (Terry). He is also survived by his aunts, Linnea Sanchez (Carlos) and Donna King (Leroy); uncles, Dick Riles, Doug Riles (Ruth), Steve Riles (Mary), Bob Hatleli (Rochelle), and Jim Riles (Carolyn); nieces and nephews, Felicia Riles, Alyssa Tischer (Isaac), and Gavin Stanley; along with numerous cousins and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his father, David Riles; his aunts, Judy Perkins (Paul) and Judy Irwin (Mike); and uncles, John Riles and Randy Dixon (Donna).
Troy will be remembered for his humor, his hard work as a Union Iron Worker, and the love he had for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. The visitation will take place from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin and will continue for one hour prior to Mass on Saturday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
