Theodore “Ted” Kenneth Rowe, age 72, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021, at St. Mark’s Living in Austin. Ted was born in Preston, Minnesota, to Kenneth and Margaret (Freigheit) Rowe, on January 5, 1949. He graduated from Wykoff High School in 1968. Ted then went on to attend Vocational Technical School in Winona, Minnesota, where he received a degree in electronics. On September 9, 1970, he enlisted into the United States Army, serving as a patch panel operator until his honorable discharge on April 22, 1972. Ted married Judythe Rowe at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chicago Temple in Chicago, Illinois on September 19, 1996. He worked several jobs over the years including at Farmstead Foods in Albert Lea, Minnesota, Butler Enterprises, and then lastly as a security guard for Hormel in Austin. Ted loved riding motorcycles. He had a kind and gentle personality, good sense of humor and wit. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his stepchildren, Ann Anderson, Jason Kuether, David (Katie) Kuether, Silvia Rowe, and Robert Row; step-granddaughter, Brooklyn Kuether; sister, Betty (Tracy) Anderson; nephew and niece, Mitch and Jennifer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Margaret Rowe; wife, Judythe Rowe in 2012; stepson, Lucas Kuether; and his beloved dogs, Bud and Butch.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Austin. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin. Memorials are preferred to the family. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
