Terraine Romae Holmen

Terraine Romae Holmen, age 60, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Methodist Campus after a courageous battle with stage four cancer.

Terraine was born on August 11, 1965, in Fillmore Township, Minnesota, to Donald and Thelma (Stockdale) Holmen. Terraine was the oldest of three children and was raised in Dexter, Minnesota. She graduated from Southland High School in 1983.

Terraine spent her early adult life raising her four children before moving to Austin, where she met her future husband, Wade Christenson. Together, they raised their combined six children, before marrying on March 14, 2016. She spent many years working alongside friends at local auctions, where she formed countless lasting friendships. Terraine was known for her creativity and artistic talents, as well as her love of gardening, auctions, and collecting.

She is survived by her husband, Wade Christenson; her daughters, Natasha (Justin) Loeding, Ashley Moriarity, and Loretta Christenson; her sons, Nathaniel Holmen, Aric Holmen (Dakota), and Damien (Sam) Christenson; grandchildren, Aidan, Lily, Lucas, Emma and Sophia Moriarity; Madelyn, Evelynn, Aubrey and Adrein Holmen; and Jonas and Elliott Garcia; her siblings, Wade (Matilde "Weng") Holmen and Kim (Scott) Kappel; many nieces and nephews; and her life-long friends, Darcy Drake-Tapp and Crystal Lammers.

Terraine was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Thelma Holmen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the Dexter, Minnesota park from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Hoff Celebrations – Worlein Chapel, Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
