Steven Ray Tapp (Tapper), age 68, of Austin, died Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 at home. Steven was born on January 21, 1950 in Willmar, Minnesota to Maynard and Jeanette (Williamson) Tapp. He grew up in the Brownsdale area and graduated from Austin High School and attended Vocational School. On December 31, 1992 he was united in marriage to Annette “Annie” (Keilen) Sabanish in Austin. Steven worked at Hormel Foods and retired after working 26 years. Steven was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and the VFW Club of Austin. He enjoyed camping, traveling, yard work, collector cars, and motorcycles. He also enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids and socializing with friends. Steven’s two favorite buddies were their cats, Scoottie and Gabby. Survivors include his wife, Annette Tapp, Austin; a son Jamie (Danielle) Tapp, Myrtle; three daughters, Stacy (Chris) Wisemore, Austin, Chrissy (Todd) Peters, Clarksville, IA, and Sherry (David ‘Redbeard’) Bracken, Austin; five grandchildren, Justin (special friend Samantha Lechner) Ellingson, Brianna (Josh) Farrell, Makenna, Kami and Brantley Tapp; five great grandchildren, Emily Ellingson, Kaylee, Bryten, Macie and Greysen Farrell; a brother in-law, Jerry (Rose) Keilen. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Diane Sabanish. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 7th at 10:00 am with the Celebration of Life Services following at 11:30 am at Mayer Funeral Home, Austin, MN. A luncheon will follow at the VFW Club, 300 4th Ave NE. A private interment will be a later date. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com
