Rosalie A. Underwood, age 78 of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at her home. Rosalie Ann was born September 29, 1942, in Winnebago, Minnesota, the daughter of Leo and Katherine (Warmka) Schimek. She was baptized at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Easton, Minnesota. Rosalie received First Communion and the Sacrament of Confirmation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, Minnesota. She graduated in 1960 from Sacred Heart High School in Waseca. Following high school, she attended dental assistant training in Minneapolis.
On October 26, 1963, she was united in marriage to Dale Underwood at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. The couple was blessed with nearly 58 years of marriage and Dale lived his vows to the fullest, becoming Rosalie’s devoted caregiver. Rosalie enjoyed her life as a homemaker raising her children and took great pride in all they did. Rosalie was an active and faithful member of St. Columbanus Catholic Church. She played tennis, loved dancing, and made sure to do a cartwheel every year. Rosalie was the creative mastermind behind neighborhood and family get-togethers and activities. She cherished her annual sister reunions in Oregon, Vermont, and Minnesota. She also loved tending to her flowers, baking for others (especially her famous cream puffs), and attending plays with her grandchildren. Rosalie was a memory maker! And, oh, did she love to drive and find adventure no matter what the weather - from coast to coast, going to grandchildren’s events, shopping, and supporting her children’s whims.
Rosalie possessed a very caring and giving heart. She always accepted people no matter what and made room in her heart and her home for everyone. She saw everyone through eyes of grace and love.
Rosalie was uplifted by all the many acts of caring and kindness shown to her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
