Robert "Bob" Weis

Robert Leo Weis, age 78, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at his home. Robert was born in Austin, Minnesota, on August 9, 1948, to Leo Charles and Mary Helen (Dolan) Weis. He graduated from Pacelli High School and attended Austin Community College. On a beautiful day in 1975, he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Heimer at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin. Their marriage was blessed with three children and a lifetime of shared faith, family, and devotion.

Robert was a hardworking businessman who owned and operated Smith's Shoe Store in Austin for 12 years, previously worked at Keenan's Menswear, and Worlein Funeral Home in his retirement. A lifelong member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, he was actively involved in parish life, serving on the parish council and singing in the church choir. His faith was an important part of who he was and guided the way he lived his life.

Robert took great pride in caring for his home and yard and especially enjoyed tending to his beloved red geraniums. He loved listening to musicals and was known for his wonderful sense of humor and fun-loving personality. He was fiercely supportive of his wife and family and taught his children the value of hard work through his example. Robert cherished time spent with his grandchildren, rarely missing an opportunity to attend their activities and accomplishments. He also adored his granddogs and took great pride in his Irish heritage. Above all, Robert will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose kindness and devotion touched many lives.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann Weis of Austin; children, Becky (David) Cook, Janelle (Chuck) Keenan, and Anthony (Bridget) Weis; grandchildren, Clare Cook, Kate Cook, and Bennett Cook; sister, Patty (Dave) Schmidt; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Mary Helen Weis; brother, Bill Weis; and infant son, Joseph Weis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin.
