Robert Krell

Robert James Krell, age 82 of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie. Bob was born January 30, 1937 in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, the son of Raymond and Nora (Pfiefer) Krell. He graduated with the class of 1954 from Blooming Prairie High School. He was a dairy and crop farmer all his life on the farm his grandparents originally settled on. On July 3, 1961, Bob married Joyce Sorensen at the First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. Their marriage was blessed with six children. Aside from farming, Bob played the drums for Luverne’s Concertina Band for over 35 years, and also played with other bands. He was a member of St. Columbanus Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, served on the Stacyville Creamery Board, was a part of the Blooming Prairie Shippers Association, and was a 4-H leader. Bob enjoyed going to antique steam tractor shows, and when he was younger loved 4-H and showing cattle. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Susan Ringhofer of Osage, IA, John Krell of Ellendale, MN, Douglas Krell of Blooming Prairie, MN, Paul Krell of Blooming Prairie, MN, Rodney Krell of Blooming Prairie, MN, Jody Groell of Osseo, WI; 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; sister, Gertrude Klemmensen-Een of Owatonna, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Nora Krell; wife, Joyce Krell; and two granddaughters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019 at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Monday at the church. Interment will be in St. Columbanus Catholic Cemetery, Blooming Prairie. Memorials are preferred to recipient of donor’s choice. Worlein Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie is assisting the family with arrangements.
