Rick Ray Conner, age 67, of Bloomington, Minnesota, died on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis. Rick was born on October 5, 1958, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Junior and Darlene (Sanow) Conner. He married the love of his life, Lori Matter, on January 2, 1977, at Crane Community Chapel in Austin, Minnesota. Rick worked at Cedar Box Company beginning in 1977. He moved his way up to manager and continued working full-time until 2023; After which he continued working part-time until 2025 He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, traveling, and trips to Las Vegas. Rick was a season ticket holder for the Minnesota Vikings for 35 years. He liked DIY home projects and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a mentor to many, known for his generosity and willingness to help his coworkers. If you had a question, you asked Rick.
Rick is survived by his wife, Lori Conner of Bloomington, Minnesota; son, Jason (Emily) Conner of Bloomington, Minnesota; grandchildren, Stuart, and Frederick; siblings, Bruce Conner, Dean Conner, Betty Griese and Bonnie Morrison; brothers‑in‑law, Rick Matter and Jim Churchill; and best friends, Jeri and Jack Morgan, and Steve and Doreen Monson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Darlene Conner; siblings, Barb Parmenter, Gene Conner, Deb Enfield, Penny Conner, and Fay Enfield; and brother‑in‑law, Dennis Matter.
A funeral service for Rick will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Christ Episcopal Church in Austin, located at 301 3rd Ave. NW. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
