Richard Allan Everson

Richard Allan Everson, age 86, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Methodist Campus. Richard was born January 14, 1938, to Lloyd and Esther (Johnson) Everson in Mitchell County, Iowa. He graduated from Lyle High School in 1956. Richard married Marlene Chilson in 1958, and their union was blessed with five children. The couple later divorced. Richard owned and operated The Taco Shop, then The Taco Place in the Northbridge Mall in Albert Lea, Minnesota until his retirement in 2003. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and crafted many wonderful pieces, from farm buildings and vehicles to figurines and decorative flags. Richard also loved restoring tractors and going to dances.

Survivors include his five children; special friend, Kathy Swancutt; brother, Phillip (Shirley) Everson; and sister, Lola (Larry) Boerjan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Esther Everson; and one brother, Ronald Everson.

Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona, IA. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
