Randy Paul Heimer

Randy Paul Heimer, age 74, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026, at his home. Randy was born on November 15, 1951, in Austin to Leo and Emma (Miller) Heimer. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Augustine Catholic Church and graduated from Pacelli High School in 1970. Randy earned his boiler operator license in Owatonna. He worked as a chimney sweep, custodian at St. Olaf Hospital, and a boiler operator at Hormel for 25 years until his retirement on November 19, 2016. Randy enjoyed ice fishing, golfing, bowling, and darts. He also loved bird watching and motocross in his younger years. Randy was a very hard worker, often working seven days a week. Most of all Randy enjoyed being at his home with Annie, riding his tractor, and visiting with friends and family who stopped by.

Randy is survived by his mother, Emma Heimer; partner, Annette “Annie” Tapp; children, Jeremy Heimer, Shanon (John) Shoden, Aaron (Emily) Heimer, Adam (Lyndsey) Heimer, and Abby (Ryan) Zylstra; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Luan (Randy) Overocker and Wayne (Theresa) Heimer; special aunt, Helen Johnson; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo; and granddaughter, Taylor Zylstra.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Randy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Fr. Thien Nguyen officiating. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
