Paul Johnston

Paul Joseph Johnston, age 77, of Austin, died Monday, February 25, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Paul was born September 9, 1941 in Rochester to A.J. “Loy” and Emily (Ellingson) Johnston. Paul was a sweet and gentle soul. He enjoyed being a jokester and a smart alec and his friends loved him for it. He was very artsy craftsy. He loved flowers, squirrels, going out to eat, shopping, ice cream, and Yahtzee. Paul is survived by many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Loy and Emily Johnston. A Funeral Service will be held 11 am on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Mayer Funeral Home with Father Jim Steffes officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at Mayer Funeral Home. Spring interment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery in St. Ansgar, Iowa. Memorials are preferred to Mower County Council for the Handicapped. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com
