Patricia M. Larson, age 82, of Austin, died Thursday evening, May 24, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Albert Lea. Pat was born June 30, 1929 to John and Louise (Wermerskirchen) Salmon in Claremont, Minnesota. She graduated from Claremont High School, went to secretarial school in Minneapolis and later moved to Austin working for George A. Hormel and Company. She was married on May 29, 1954 to David A. Larson, and began a career as a homemaker. Pat enjoyed being involved in her children and grandchildren's lives and spending time with her many friends. She was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church, and avid golfer and enjoyed traveling. Survivors include three sons, Doug (Kathy) Larson, St. Michael, MN, Jeff (Debbie) Larson, Mannford, OK, Steve (Rhonda) Larson, Mantorville, MN; six grandchildren, Sarah, Austin, Lindsey, Ryne, Brady and Nickolas; three step grandchildren, Audrey Jones, Danny Morall, Darcey Sheperd, all of Oklahoma; five step great grandchildren, Kylynn, Jackson, Kyle, Bradley and Maci; sister, Joan Salmon, Tucson, AZ; brother-in-law, Lewis Larson, Carrollton, GA; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, David; and son, Terry. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Dale Tupper officiating. There will be a 6:30 pm wake service on Monday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4-7 pm and also one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Hormel Institute for Cancer Research.
