Maurice "Bud" Kroc

Maurice “Bud” Richard Kroc, age 95, of Austin died Sunday, March 5, 2017 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home. He was born September 2, 1921 in Mason City, Iowa to Joseph and Loretta (Nugent) Kroc. They moved to Austin, MN when he was a young boy. On November 8, 1941 he was united in marriage to Elinor Kinney. Bud served in the Army from March of 1943 to December of 1945. He retired from Hormel Foods after 40 years of service. He was an avid golfer and golfed to the age of 90. He was a long-time member of the Austin Country Club and was a pro at Ramsey Golf Course. Bud golfed in many city tournaments. Bud is survived by son, James (Rochelle) Kroc, Austin; grandchildren Daniel (Amy) Kroc, Nibley, Utah; Kellie (Phil) Scharold, South St Paul, MN; Jennifer (Steven) Birch, Logan Utah; Matthew Kroc South Sioux City, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Georgette Kroc South Sioux City, Iowa; sister, Bernadine O’Shaughnessy, Burnsville. MN; nine great-grandchildren; and special friend Shirly Wickoren Preceding him in death are wife, Elinor; sons, Gary and Robert; grandson, Joshua; his parents; brothers, Clement Kroc and Bernard Kroc. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 am on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Dale Tupper officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #91. Arrangements by Mayer Funeral Home.
