Marie Louise "Mary Lou" (Scheid) Notermann, age 76, former Austin resident and daughter of legendary Southern Minnesota Baseball Hall of Famer, Emil Scheid, died Friday, June 15, 2012 at her home in Rochester. Mary Lou was born June 13, 1936 in Waseca, Minnesota to Emil and Elaine (McDonald) Scheid. She started school in Waseca and moved to Austin for First Grade. Mary Lou graduated from St. Augustine High School. She was united in marriage to Richard Neil "Dick" Notermann at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin. She attended St. Theresa's College and ended up with a Nursing Degree from Austin Community College. Mary Lou worked as a nurse abstracter at the Mayo Clinic. After that she took care of her husband, Dick until his death. She was a Mayo Clinic volunteer and delivered Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed reading, going to daily mass, lunches with friends and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and attending their events. She was a huge baseball fan and cheered for the Twins win or lose. She loved her family and she will be missed by many. Mary Lou was an avid hockey fan, watching her sons and grandchildren play. Survivors include six children, John Clement Notermann (Denise), Rochester, Ann Elizabeth Bearson (Kent), Naperville, IL, Mary Jo Eukel (Kevin), Fridley, Paul Joseph Notermann (Deborah), Prior Lake, Michael Anthony Notermann (Amy), Cedar Falls, IA, Neil Francis Notermann (Connie), Mason City, IA; 14 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; siblings, John (Helen) Scheid, Rochester, Margaret "Peggy" (Jack) Saari, Seattle, WA, Larry (Barb) Scheid, Austin, Deb (Del) Bauernfeind, Kasota. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Marie Notermann; husband, Richard "Dick" Notermann. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am on Monday, June 18, 2012 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Jim Steffes and Father Paul Nelson officiating. There will be a 4 pm CCW rosary and a 6:30 pm wake service on Sunday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4-7 pm and also one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
