Marlene Hansen

Marlene A. Hansen, age 67, of Rochester, MN died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Stewartville Care Center. Marlene was born April 13, 1945 in Hastings, NE to Marland "Bud" and Jacqueline Sukow. She grew up in Austin, MN and graduated from Rose Creek High School in 1963. Marlene was united in marriage to Gary Hansen on June 22, 1968 and they were later divorced. Marlene loved collecting angel statues, playing Farkel, listening to classical and country music, and making crafts. She loved and treasured times spent with her grandchildren and her dog, Gizmo. Survivors include two daughters, Tracey (Paul) Welch, Stewartville, MN, Kathy (Bill) Strouckel, Rochester, MN; three grandchildren, Stephen, Alexander, and Elizabeth; sisters, Karen (Larry) Sheely, Austin, MN, Diane (Mike) McCabe, Dundas, MN, Carol (Mark) Thoma, Seattle, WA; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents in 1999. A memorial service will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Stewartville, MN. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the church, followed by a graveside service in Grandview Cemetery in Austin, MN.
