Marlene Ann Martin, age 91, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026, with her daughter by her side, at Beehive Assisted Living in Elk River, Minnesota. Marlene was born to Harry Rathke and Erma on August 16, 1934, in Austin, Minnesota. Marlene was later adopted and raised by Erma’s second husband, Harvey Baxter. She attended and graduated from Austin High School. Following high school, she worked as a clerk at a local Law firm. After several years at home raising children, she returned to work at Engar Abstract and then Mower County Recorders office until her retirement. On April 14, 1956, Marlene married Richard Low and the couple were blessed with 3 children. Richard passed away in 1984. On May 9, 1987, Marlene remarried Charles Martin and they shared 20 years together before he passed in 2007. Marlene enjoyed going to the YMCA with her friends. She also enjoyed going out to eat with family, friends and former coworkers. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Gregory (Cynthia) Low, Michelle Brady, and Michael (Donna) Low; grandchildren; Zac Rupprecht, Sarah (Stephen) Cyrus, Andrew Brady, Michael Low (Brittni Campanini) and Danny Low; great-grandchildren; Hunter, Ellie, and Colette; and great-great-grandson, Jude. Stepchildren; Lelo (Doug) Sandin, Chuck (Mary Lee) Martin, and Tim (Mary) Martin; step grandchildren; Anna (Pete) Larson, Kathryn (Ryan) Morris, Charlie Martin, Justine Schneider and Ben (Steph) Sandin; step great-grandchildren; Ellie, Will, Jack, Margot, Olivia, Evelyn, Margaret, Jack, Carter, Jacob (Brooke Miller) and Sam. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Rathke; mother and stepfather, Erma and Harvey Baxter; first husband, Richard Low; second husband, Charles Martin, stepdaughter; Patty Martin, grandson; Tyler Brady, son-in-law: Tim Brady, brothers; Ronald Rathke and Timothy Baxter.
A memorial service for Marlene will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin, Minnesota. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Tyler Brady Memorial Foundation. Services are prearranged and performed by Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin.
