Lon Arthur Bakke

Lon Arthur Bakke, age 73, of Inver Grove Heights, previously of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Woodlyn Heights Senior Living in Inver Grove Heights. Lon was born on July 2, 1952, in Austin, Minnesota to Arthur and Mildred (Weber) Bakke. He graduated from Lyle High School in 1969. Following his graduation he joined the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1973. Upon his return he met Jessie Sanders and the couple were married November 4, 1974, in Mason City, Iowa; two children were born to the union. Lon was a member of the Dry Rider Motorcycle Club and practiced with the Catholic faith. He loved motorcycles, watching movies, listening to loud music and camping. Lon also had an interest in paleontology and dinosaurs.

Lon is survived by his wife, Jessie Bakke of Austin; son, Christopher Bakke of Minneapolis; daughter, Jennifer (Adam) Hanson of Austin; and grandchildren, Ben Murphy, Alex Hanson and Jacob Hanson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mildred Bakke; and sisters, Lynette Caroll and Betty McaNally.

The family plans to have a Celebration of Life at a later date. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
