Lee "OB" Allen Smock

Lee “OB” Allen Smock, age 77, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society- Comforcare in Austin. OB was born to Edmund and Fay Smock in Maryland on August 8, 1947. He grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School. On May 6, 1995, he married Sue Sorenson at the Hormel Nature Center in Austin. Throughout his years he worked at Hormel Foods and did maintenance work at Johnson Floral. Many have known OB for his artistic talent with a paint brush. His attention to detail was amazing, one could spend many hours looking at his work and would always find something unusual in every piece. He enjoyed his phone visits with his nieces and nephews, talking racing, sports, and one only knows. 

Survivors include his brothers-in-law, Steve (Brenda) Sorenson of Austin, Harold (Cathy) Sorenson of Austin; sister-in-law, Barb (Jerry) Gunderson of Brownsdale; six nieces and nephews, Bradley (Lindsay) Sorenson, Jim (Beth) Sorenson, Mandi, Joe (Mariah) Gunderson, Michelle (Sarah) Kleist, Lee (Sarah) Gunderson; 11 great-nieces and nephews, Orrin, Brooks, Ayden, Zoeey, Keian, Julia, Adelynn, Grayden, Braelyn, Harper, and Hudson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Smock; parents, Ed and Fay Smock; and father and mother-in-law, James and Ann Sorenson. 

At OB’s request, no funeral services will be held. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
