Larry Ray Wilson

Larry R. Wilson, age 84, of Holmen, Wisconsin, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2026, with the assurance that he would be in the presence of Jesus and his beloved wife, Karen.

Larry was born on November 9, 1941, at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin, Minnesota. He grew up in Brownsdale and Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1960. He graduated from Barber School in 1962.

On November 17, 1962, Larry married Karen Schuster. Their marriage spanned 61 years.

Larry's deep love for Jesus was the foundation of his faith. He was an active member of First Methodist Church in Austin, Austin Vineyard, Albert Lea Vineyard, and Northside Community Church in La Crosse. He was involved in missions in Mexico and Guatemala.

Larry began barbering in 1962. Over the years he also worked in sales at Shedd-Brown, at Hormel, and owned Great Grips Manufacturing, before returning to barbering. He really missed barbering and his customers after moving to Wisconsin.

Larry loved to hunt and treasured his dogs. He was active in the Austin Jaycees and enjoyed woodworking and carving, trapshooting competitions, and barbering competitions.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Sybil Wilson (Waldron) and wife, Karen Wilson.

He is survived by his sons, Wade Wilson (wife Lynne) and Troy Wilson (wife Ann); 8 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Larry is also survived by his siblings, Judith Porter and Sandra Earl (husband Mitch).
