LaMona Lucille Preuss

LaMona Lucille Preuss, 83, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at her home on October 14, 2026.

LaMona was born on October 19, 1942, in Minneapolis and raised by her mother, Lucille Lienemann. LaMona lived a life filled with family, friendship, music, and laughter. She married Dennis Preuss on June 20, 1969, in Watertown, South Dakota. She worked in housekeeping at North Memorial Hospital for many years before retiring in 2009.

LaMona enjoyed bowling, classic movies, the Rolling Stones, taking walks, and spending time with animals, including her beloved dog, Bella. She had a great smile, a wonderful sense of humor, and a personality that made it easy for her to make friends wherever she went. Those who knew LaMona will remember her fondly for her big hair, her love of life, and the lifelong friendships she made along the way.

LaMona is survived by her children, Ron (Kim) Hansen, Tracy Hansen, and Angela (Bernie) Sturgis; five grandchildren, Jonathon, Katie, Dylan, Jacob, and Jordan; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Preuss; son, Mickey Hansen; daughter, Carole Hansen; grandson, Joshua Hansen; and mother, Lucille Mathison.

No public services will be held. Burial will take place in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she will be reunited with her beloved husband, Dennis Preuss. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
