Kenneth Heimer

Kenneth John Heimer, age 89, of Austin, died Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Saint Mark's Lutheran Home. Kenneth was born January 9, 1930 in Johnsburg, Minnesota to Joseph and Julia (Krebsbach) Heimer. On February 4, 1959 he was united in marriage to Evelyn Berg at Saint John's Catholic Church in Johnsburg, Minnesota. The couple resided in Austin, Minnesota where Kenneth was employed by the Milwaukee / SOO Line Railroad. Kenneth was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin, Minnesota. He retired from the railroad in May of 1992. He enjoyed gardening, old time music, spending time with family, holding detailed conversations, and a good cold beer (not necessarily in that order). Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Heimer, Austin, MN; sister, RoseMary (Ernie) King, Austin, MN; daughter, Cheryl (Tim) Schneider, Austin, MN; son, Steve (Faith) Heimer, Eden Prairie, MN; son, Alan (Jean) Heimer, Rochester, MN; daughter, Judy (Todd) Mullenbach, Austin, MN; daughter, Susan (Rodney) Ryks, Austin, MN; 13 grandchildren, Matthew, Natalie, Josiah, Adam, Isaac, Philip, Jerrad, Nicholas, Alyssa, Kathryn, Damian, Madelyn, Hannah; 2 great grandchildren, Aidan and Lucas; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents (Joseph and Julia Heimer); his 2 sisters (Priscilla May and Marjorie Heimer); and 7 brothers (Sylvester 'Sally', Nicholas, Cletus, Jerome, Herbert 'Herbie', Marvin, and Eugene 'Shorty'). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Raul Silva officiating. Visitation will take place, Friday, March 29, 2019 at Mayer Funeral Home from 4-7 pm, with a 4 pm rosary service. There will also be visitation one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Spring interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com.
