Kenneth “Butch” John Kruckeberg, Jr., age 73, of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, formerly of Ellendale, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Methodist Campus. Ken was born on May 29, 1952, in Owatonna, Minnesota, to Kenneth and Edith (Fiebiger) Kruckeberg. He was a graduate of Blooming Prairie High School and proud Awesome Blossom, where he excelled in both basketball and football. He served in the United States Army from 1972 until 1978. He had two sons, Derek and Bradley, and spent much of his time over the years going to their sporting events. Ken loved living in northern Minnesota, which he called “God’s Country.” He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his big smile, loud laugh, and willingness to help anyone in need. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his sons, Derek and Bradley; daughter-in-law, Bre; grandchildren, Liam, Livja, and Luka; brothers Doug (Lyn), Dennis, Todd (Patty), as well his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Bruce; and sister-in-law Iva.
A celebration of life for Kenneth will be held from 12:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the Blooming Prairie Servicemen’s Club in Blooming Prairie. Interment will take place at a later date in First Lutheran Cemetery, rural Blooming Prairie. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
