Kathleen Nielsen

Kathleen Nielsen, age 79, passed away peacefully at Good Samaritan–Comforcare in Austin, with her husband by her side. Kathleen was born on May 22, 1946, in Kansas City, to Harry, Sr. and Dorothy (Height) Osen.

Kathleen grew up in Kansas City and graduated from high school there. She later worked at First National Bank in Minneapolis. Kathleen continued her education after her stroke and gained her degree.

Kathleen was united in marriage to Jeff Nielsen in October 1995. Together they shared many years together. Jeff was a dedicated caretaker for Kathleen.

She had a deep passion for animals, particularly her collies, which she raised and showed, earning many awards over the years. Kathleen was also an accomplished horse rider and greatly enjoyed time spent with horses.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Jeff Nielsen. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Harry Osen, Jr.; and her son, Jeff Busse in 2010.

A private interment will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin, Minnesota. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family.
