Karyn Raye Nelson

Karyn Raye Nelson, age 59, of Elmore, Minnesota, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025. Karyn was born on February 3, 1966, to Robert and LaRayne (Lumholt) Jochumsen in Austin, Minnesota. She spent many years as a parts professional at Trail’s Travel Center in Albert Lea. She spent many years with her lifelong partner, Lee Dority and they shared a lot of happy times together. Karyn loved to travel on her Harley and play pool.

Karyn is survived by her children, Justin Nelson and Cole (Bryttani) Wells; grandchildren Kaya, Gemma, Kaylee, Ryder, Carlie, Charlee, and Tyson; sister KaLyn Ellis; and brothers Kevin Jochumsen, Kendahl Jochumsen and Kerry (Katie) Jochumsen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and LaRayne Jochumsen; life-long partner Lee Dority; sister Kellee Jochumsen; and sister-in-law Alberta Jochumsen.

A Memorial Service will be held this summer at Freedom Christian Fellowship in Austin, Minnesota. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
