Karen “Jeanne” Jean (Veverka) Hall, age 86, of Milton, Washington, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at her home in Milton, due to heart failure. Jeanne was born on May 11, 1939, to Edward H. and Alma E. (Gunderson) Veverka in Austin, Minnesota. She grew up alongside her brothers, Bob and Mike, in Austin and enjoyed spending time with her many friends. Jeanne graduated in 1957 from Austin High School. She worked at several companies, such as Hormel Foods, General Mills, and Door Opening Components. Jeanne resided in Austin and Crystal, Minnesota, for many years, relocating later in life to Redmond, Washington, and then Milton, Washington. She had a lifelong passion for playing cards and board games, as well as enjoying bowling, golfing, and traveling with family and friends.
Survivors include her former husband, Richard Quam; son, Jeffrey Quam and daughter, Kathy (Quam) Walton and husband William Walton; stepchildren, Bryon Hertle, Bonnie (Hertle) Ryther, Terry Hall and wife Sharyl Hall, and Dean Hall; grandchildren, Brittany (Walton) Zepeda, Samuel Watson, Jackson Walton, Joseph Walton, Lindsay (Hertle) Hayek, Ben Hertle, Ramona Hertle, Austin Hall, Brooke (Hall) Phair, and Tyler Hall; great-grandchildren, Donovan Zepeda, Sienna Zepeda, Josephine Walton, Logan Hayek, Alexis Hayek, Lola Hayek, Savannah Hayek, Hailey Hertle, and Addison Hertle; and brother, Michael Veverka. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Alma Veverka; former husband, Lawrence Hertle in 2012; late husband, LeRoy Hall in 1999; and one brother, Robert Veverka.
A funeral service for Jeanne will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin, with Father Thien Nguyen officiating. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
