June Marie Grimley, age 88, of Austin, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at St. Mark's Lutheran Home. She was born June Marie Wiseman in Saint Joseph, Missouri on June 7, 1921 to Harvey and Therese (Arens) Wiseman. When she was two years old, the family moved back to Austin, Minnesota. June graduated from Austin High School in 1939. She married Max Joseph Grimley on December 6, 1943 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church. June was a longtime employee of the Hormel Company having worked more that 40 years there. June had no children, but took great pride in her nieces and nephews. Many happy hours were spent on the farm and at the cabin on French Lake. They were favorite spots for family gatherings and good times. The hobby farm was her pride and joy that she shared with her husband Max. June loved horses and her dogs. She was an avid football fan and the Vikings were her team. She also liked baseball and the Twins. June loved tending to her flower gardens on the farm, camping and traveling. She was a member of the Austin Saddle Club. Survivors include a sister, Victoria (James) Schulte, Austin; five nieces, Cheryl (Ron) Brady and Maxwell, Austin, Suzanne (Ron) Stowell, Denver, CO, Carol Conner, Austin, Mary (Robert) Boysen, Denver, CO, Loretta (Roger) Morgan, Winona; four nephews, James (Jeanne) Wiseman, Merrill, WI, David Wiseman, Austin, Steven Wiseman (Darci Hubbell), Austin, Dr. Robert (Crystal) Wiseman, East Lansing, MI; numerous great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Max J. Grimley; parents, Harvey and Therese Wiseman; brothers, Daniel and Robert Wiseman. A Memorial Mass was celebrated 11:00 am on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Dale Tupper officiating. Friends called one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Mayer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. The honorary casket bearers were, Mary Boysen, Cheryl Brady, Carol Conner, Suzanne Stowell and Maxwell Brady. June will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, her sister and all those who enjoyed her sharp wit and her charming company.
