Joseph Price

d. July 4, 2014

Joseph Keith Price, 47, born April 1, 1967, the son of Keith and Rosemary (Carey) Price, Rose Creek, passed away at his home on Friday, July 4, 2014 at the 3 o’clock hour. Joseph was chosen to live in a family of 5 brothers and 7 sisters, and more important, he was a Child of God knowing that he came from God and that Heaven was his eternal home. Joseph graduated from Southland High School and received the Rebel Award as the manager of the sports teams. Joseph was a loyal Minnesota Viking fan recalling the outcome of all games, playoffs and super bowls that had occurred throughout his lifetime. Joseph attended daily Mass and was lector and altar server for more than 35 years. Although he traveled extensively throughout the country during his lifetime, he never lived anywhere but Ash Street in Rose Creek, Minnesota. Joe was well known throughout the community, and beloved by all. Even though nearly thirty years since high school graduation, he was still an avid supporter of all the Southland teams, attending as many games as his lifestyle would allow. Joseph was preceded in death by his grandparents Emery and Gladys Price and Horace and Cecelia Carey, nieces Kelli Michelle Knee and Bridget Rose Brantner, his nephews Joseph Lewison and Michael Wayne Peterson. Joseph will be forever remembered and dearly missed by his devoted family, Keith and Rosemary Price of Rose Creek, MN, Rosemary (Ronnie) Jepson of Chippewa Falls, WI., Jim (Betty) Price of Mille Lacs, MN., Kathy (Gary) Tapp Ellsworth, WI, Teresa (Todd) Gadient, of Red Wing, MN, Maria (Lee) Schultz of Lake City, MN., Tom (Tami) Price of Alden, MN., Brian (Shirley) Price of Detroit Lakes, MN., Gina (Wayne) Peterson of Eden Prairie, MN., Anthony (Maria) Price of St. Anthony, MN., Andrew (Natalie) Price of Kasson, MN., Mary (Jon) Lewison of Dodge Center, MN., and Anne (Mike) Bauer of Rose Creek, MN., over 100 nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Joseph touched the lives of everyone he met by his sincere innocence and his vulnerabilities, particularly his closest friends, Ron Stroup and John Julson. Joseph’s life was so exceptional. Of course, Almighty God, in His wondrous plan for Joe, designated the hour and day. Just the day before, the Gospel reading for Mass was: Matthew 11: 25-30: “Our Lord Jesus praises His Father for revealing to the simple; the things that have been hidden from the learned and the clever.” We must remember that God is perfectly simple to those who are simple. We will never truly be able to grasp the treasure we had having Joseph in our life. Friends and family are invited to attend visitation from 4-7 pm on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin. The Most Holy Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, July 12 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Rose Creek. Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery and lunch will be served in the church hall following interment.
