John Edward Adams

John Edward Adams, age 89, of Austin, MN, went home to the Lord on June 20, 2026. John was born in Imogene, MN, the son of Lawrence and Sarah (Ficken) Adams.

He married Doreen Bechtel on May 12, 1958. They lived for a few years in Sheboygan, WI, before moving to Sherburn, MN. After several years, they moved to Brownsdale, MN, and later moved to Austin, MN, where he lived until his death. John was a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

After serving in the U.S. Navy, he worked with Garton Toy Manufacturing until they closed. He then worked as a carpenter with a plastics company and at a truck stop. His final work was with a window company, from which he retired.

He enjoyed taking family drives to the hills of Minnesota and the Mississippi River. He also enjoyed his green and yellow Green Bay Packers.

John is survived by his daughters, Tammy (Steve) Pfeifer, Laurie (Kerry) Dinges, and Julie Easton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amy Gardner, Katy (Robert) Hodge, Travis Easton, and Jeff Easton; and great-grandchildren, Cash Gardner, Lucy Gardner, and RJ Hodge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doreen; his parents; son-in-law, Scott Easton; and three siblings.

Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Sherburn Cemetery, Sherburn, MN. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
