JoAnn Pauline Lancaster

JoAnn Pauline (Voxland) Lancaster, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

JoAnn lived in Austin Minnesota since 2001 and was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, before moving into St. Mark’s Assisted Living in 2022. JoAnn was born on October 25, 1934, in Holden Township, Goodhue County Minnesota, to Walter and Leona (Ramstad) Voxland. JoAnn grew up on her parent’s farm and was baptized and confirmed at Holden Lutheran Church. JoAnn attended country school and graduated from Kenyon High School in 1952. She married Vancel Lancaster on July 19, 1953. Through her adult life, she enjoyed working and helping others at nursing homes in Iowa and Minnesota. JoAnn enjoyed traveling throughout the US along with a couple trips to Sweden and Norway while raising four children, Steven, James, Susan, and Brian. JoAnn and Vance’s semi-retirement happened when purchasing Paradise Resort, Pennington, MN in the late 70s. This 20 year “retirement” job was very rewarding in meeting new longtime friends, along with much work with many long days throughout the northern Minnesota vacation season. However, they were able to enjoy the winters at their Fiesta Village home in Mission, TX.

JoAnn is survived by sons, Steve (Ronnie) of McLean, VA and Jim of Plantersville, TX; daughter, Susan (Danny) Harrison of Nevada, IA; longtime partner, Arlen Fordahl of Austin, MN; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Bonnie Monson of Rochester, MN and Lydell Reinhardy of Canon Falls, MN.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vance; son, Brian; brothers, Wally Voxland, George Voxland, and Chuck Voxland; nephew, Tony Lancaster; brothers-in-law, Vinal Lancaster and Gary Kohn; sisters-in-law, Connie Voxland, Angie Reinhardy, and Darlene Voxland.

A memorial service for JoAnn will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home, 1801 4th St. NW, Austin, MN 55912. The visitation will take place from 1:00-2:30 p.m. prior to the service. A private family burial will be held at Ostrander, MN cemetery. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
