Joann Holgate

JoAnn Stella (Wolf) Holgate, age 87, of Austin, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin. JoAnn was born April 13, 1932 in Stacyville, Iowa to Albert and Katherine (Snyder) Wolf. She was baptized at Visitation Catholic Church. JoAnn married Richard Holgate on October 7, 1950. They enjoyed 69 ½ years of marriage. Together they had six children, eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. JoAnn enjoyed gardening, reading, volunteering with church, the Red Cross, and Sacred Heart Care Center. She loved attending all of the grandchildrens’ events. Survivors include her husband, Richard; sons, Bruce (Jean) Holgate, Mike (Marykaye) Holgate, Brian (Julie) Holgate, Thomas Holgate; daughters, Nadine Holgate and Alyssa Phillips; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am on Monday, May 20, 2019 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Raul Silva officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Mayer Funeral Home. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com
