Jimmie Dale Allgood

Jimmie Dale Allgood, age 87, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Boutwells Landing in Oak Park Heights, Minnesota.

Jimmie was born on October 19, 1938, to Billie and Thelma (Sheild) Allgood in Brownwood, Texas. The family had moved a few times through his childhood and settled in Austin. He joined the United States Navy when he was 18. After his service he followed his dad and brother to Austin where he met the love of his life. He married Evelyn Pearl Wyant on December 28, 1962, in Austin at Crane Community Chapel and they made their home in Austin. From their union they had two children, Kimberly and Michael. Jimmie studied woodworking at Austin Vocational School.

He spent most of his working life in sales and later was self-employed, as a contractor, working around the Austin area. His family and his church remained very important to him. He would often be found volunteering for different youth activities at church and in the community, especially when his kids were involved in those activities. Jimmie also enjoyed traveling around the United States to visit family and trace his family roots. When the kids were growing up, he shared his love of camping with them and later the grandchildren around the state parks in the area. Later they would stay in the big cabin at the Lazy D campground in Elba, Minnesota. He also enjoyed dancing, movies, 50’s rock n roll music, and roller skating.

Jimmie is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (David) Allgood Peterson; son, Michael (Azra) Allgood; grandchildren, Matthew, Thomas (Marisol); great-granddaughter, Aurora; sisters-in-law, Joan and Leora; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn; sisters, Billie Flora and Bertie Wynnell; and brother, Carroll Ray.

A celebration of life for Jimmie will be held in the spring of 2026. Memorials are preferred to Crane Community Chapel. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
