Hjordes Marie Ebeling

Hjordes Marie Ebeling, age 79, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Birchwood Cottages in Owatonna. Hjordes was born on June 3, 1944, in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, the daughter of Palmer and Ora (Hanson) Johnson. She graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1962. On September 14, 1963, Hjordes married Bruce Ebeling at the First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. Hjordes worked for more than 40 years with her husband Bruce at Ebeling’s Antiques. She also worked as a receptionist at the dental office in Blooming Prairie, for KRFO radio doing the Blooming Prairie News and at the front desk at Treasure Island Hotel. Hjordes was a member of First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. She enjoyed cross country skiing, knitting, biking and antiquing.

She is survived by her husband Bruce Ebeling; three daughters and sons-in-law, Andre (Roger) Kubista of Goodhue, MN, Tonya (Marc) Welsch of Apple Valley, MN, and Breta (Tim Forgey) Ebeling of Eagan, MN; seven grandchildren Brianne (Tyler) Robinson, Kaia (Scott) Moechnig, Derek (Emalie) Kubista, Lauren Welsch, Madelyn Welsch, Jacob Forgey and Lucas Forgey;  seven (soon to be eight) great grandchildren Emmett, Olivia, Harrison, Zach, Harper, Cooper and Harvey; and many nieces and nephews. Hjordes is preceded in death by her parents Palmer and Ora Johnson; and six brothers and sisters, Darrell Johnson, Beverly Swenson, Marlys Spinler, David Johnson, Marvin Johnson and Gayle Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2023, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Blooming Prairie City Cemetery. Services are prearranged and performed by Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home.
