Harold Victor Gaul Jr., age 69, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026, at his home. Harold was born November 15, 1956, in Austin to Harold Sr. and Sinnie (Konken) Gaul. He attended Austin Public Schools and graduated from Austin High School in 1975. Harold married Debbie Drake on March 13, 1976; the couple later divorced. Harold worked at Big Steer Restaurant until he moved to Austin, Texas. After seven years he moved back to Austin, Minnesota, and worked at various gas stations. Harold worked at the London, Oakland, and Brownsdale elevators before working at Wenger Corporation in Owatonna for over 20 years.
On July 28, 1984, Harold was united in marriage to Vickie Lynn Holt at the Covered Bridge at the J.C. Hormel Nature Center. Harold and Vickie spent many years at Beaver Dam Resort in Cleveland, Minnesota with Charlie, Dale, and Don, whom he also bowled with. He enjoyed sitting on the deck of the camper, drinking a cup of coffee, and watching the sun come up. Harold also loved fishing and watching NCIS and CIS. One of his most special memories was watching WWE Wrestling on TV with his dad. Most of all Harold loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Harold is survived by his wife, Vickie; sons, Jonathan (Cassie) Gaul and Dustin (Stephanie) Gaul; chosen daughter, Sabrina (Tyler) Ladlie; grandchildren, Damien, Savannah, Michael, Josef, Oliver, Desmond, Andrew, and Thea; sister, Nancy Paape; and brother, Robert (Jessika) Gaul; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Sinnie; sons, Christopher and Casey; sister, Mary Wolff; and brothers-in-law, Allen Paape and Roger Wolff.
The funeral service for Harold will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin. The visitation take place from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin and will continue for one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
