Gwen Hoffman

Gwen Lucille Hoffman, 97, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Austin. Gwen was born on May 21, 1922, in Austin, MN, to Arnold and Margaret (Fleming) Hoffman. She graduated in from Austin High School and attended college for a while until and a serious illness forced her to stop. She then took a job as a secretary at Hormel. She later worked four years in sales and seven years as a typesetter at the Mower County Shopper. Gwen also worked at the Social Security office as a receptionist. Gwen was a very talented artist. She was very gifted at drawing and painting portraits and landscapes. She enjoyed drawing with charcoal and painting with acrylic. Gwen was a longtime member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. Gwen is survived by her many relatives and friends that loved her very much. She was preceded in death by parents, Arnold and Margaret Hoffman. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 29, 2019, at 2:00 pm at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Austin, MN, with Father Dale Tupper officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
