Gloria Eva Chapman

Gloria Eva Chapman, age 87, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Monday, May 11, 2026, at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Gloria was born on July 16, 1938, in Atlantic, Iowa, to Donald and Bernice (Crist) Eddy. She graduated from Calmar High School in 1957. On May 31, 1958, she married the love of her life, Beauford Chapman at Calmar Lutheran Church in Calmar, Iowa. They had four children, Beverly, Edward, David and Susan that they raised in Austin, Minnesota. The couple were wed 61 years, Beauford passed away in 2019. She liked to collect salt and pepper shakers, was an active member and volunteer at Grace Lutheran Church and held different offices within the church. She also taught Sunday School for many years, was a member of WELCA and spent over 25 years working in the kitchen at church helping to serve funeral lunches and other special dinners. Gloria was the family historian and enjoyed doing plastic canvas.

Survivors include her children, Beverly Verschoor, Edward Chapman, David (Kim) Chapman, Susan (Craig) Linderoth; grandchildren, Melissa Verschoor, Anthony Chapman, Abraham Barr, Samatha (Eliazan Garcia) Barr, Jon Verschoor, and Nikkita Chapman; several step-grandchildren including, Kayla and James Linderoth, Chelsey and Tony Schauman; great grandchildren, Lydia Verschoor, Alexa, Fernanda, Damian and Elian Garcia Barr, Natalie and Aden Barr, and Ava Chapman, and Bayker and Charles Dowell; step-great grandchildren, Karyna Carlson, Ariana Reyes, and Sophia Linderoth; and siblings, brother, Robert and sister, Louise Perry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Beauford Chapman in 2019; parents, Donald and Bernice Eddy; foster parents, James and Palma Baburek; 12 siblings; nieces, nephews, and a little angel who died at birth on December 29, 1983.

Funeral services for Gloria will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin, Minnesota. There will be no formal visitation. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
