Gary Lawrence Tabor, age 73, of Austin, Minnesota passed away on July 9, 2024, after a brief bout of cancer. Gary was born on April 22, 1951, in Austin, Minnesota to Wayne and Viola Tabor. 

Gary spent many years working as a carpenter and in lumberyards. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling, playing softball, and cornhole. Gary spent his free time fishing, playing cards, and enjoying quality time with his beloved dogs, Maxie and Murphy. He liked watching the Twins, Vikings, Nascar, old westerns, or General Hospital. Gary’s greatest joy in life was spending time with those he cared about. This included cherished moments spent with family, especially outside, or having a beer in the garage with his close friends. 

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Eugene, Jim, Bruce, Craig, and Duane; sisters, Delores, Sharon, Pat, and Marsha; and niece, BJ. 

He is survived by his children, Gary, Shelley, and Jason; grandchildren, Alyssa, Emily, Justice, Kassidy, and Haidyn; two great grandchildren; brother, Steve; sisters, Donna Mae, Bonnie, Cheryl, and Kathy; many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives. 

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held from 12:00 noon-6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Lions Park East Pavilion in Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
