Francis Edgar Miller, age 83, of Oakland, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Francis was born November 23, 1927 in Austin to Edward and Evelyn (Torrens) Miller. He graduated from Austin High School. On February 17, 1951 he was united in marriage to Elaine Mae Bolgren at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin. Francis was a farmer. He was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church and served on the Finance Committee for several years, an adult leader with Freeborn County 4-H, a member of the Freeborn County American Dairy Association, a member of the Mid-America Dairy Board, and sold DeKalb Seed for many years. Francis loved working the land, raising crops and working with his dairy cows. He enjoyed attending livestock shows where his children and grandchildren participated. Survivors include his children, Mary Nelson, Northfield, Dick Miller, Oakland, John (Alana) Miller, Oakland, Beth (Steve) Berhow, Oakland, Lisa (Mike) Schwartz, New Ulm, Heidi (Loran) Sellner, Sleepy Eye; grandchildren, Katie Nelson, Gjeni Stark, Amber Berhow and fiance Josh Jones, Luke Berhow, Jack and Lindsey Miller, Adam, Maggie and Gracie Miller; three great grandchildren; brothers, Wayne (Leona) Miller, Oakland, Ray (Mavis) Miller, Austin. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine on May 6, 1992. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:30 pm on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at St. Edward's Catholic Church with Father Joe Fogal officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 pm on Wednesday at Mayer Funeral Home and also one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The honorary casket bearers will be Gracie Sellner, Zach Stark, Josue Arredondo, Alejandro Carranza. The casket bearers will be Katie Nelson, Gjeni Stark, Amber Berhow, Luke Berhow, Jack Miller, Lindsey Miller, Adam Sellner, Maggie Sellner.
