Frances (Mrs. Angelo) Crandall, age 88, of Austin died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011 at Mayo Health System-Austin. Frances Anna Kramer, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Augusta (Elfert) Kramer, was born June 11, 1923 in Mitchell, S.D. She was united in marriage to Angelo "Buzz" Crandall on May 9, 1944. Together, they raised two sons (David and Duane "Jake") and a daughter (Carol). Fran was a generous and loving wife, mother, and friend who loved golfing, square dancing, and canning (preserving the bounty from her and Buzz's garden). She was a longtime member of Queen of Angels and worked at the Philomathian Religious Books & Gifts in Austin for several years. She is survived by her husband of 67 years (Buzz); three children, David (Mary) Crandall of Austin, Carol (Jim) LeDuc of St. Paul, and Duane "Jake" (Angel) of Sunfish Lake; six grandchildren, Angie Crandall (Sean McGuire), Adam Crandall (Katie Giedt), Nicole LeDuc Meehan (John), Claire LeDuc, Allison Crandall Burke (John), and Sarah Crandall; and five great-grandchildren, Kieran, Darby, Beatrice, Benjamin, and Lucas. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Dale Tupper officiating. There will be a 3 pm CCW rosary and a 4:30 pm wake service on Sunday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 3-5 pm and also one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Pacelli High School or donor's choice.
