Fern M. Lickteig, age 87, of Austin, died Saturday, May 14, 2011  at St. Mark's Lutheran Home.        Fern was born October 8, 1923 in  Bowdon, North Dakota to Ernest W. and Martha (Brown) Murphy.   On November 9, 1946 she married James E. Lickteig in Austin,  Minnesota.  He preceded her in death on December 24,  1984.        Fern was a homemaker.  She was a  member of the Salvation Army and SFO Third Order of St.  Francis.  She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and embroidery,  collecting and restoring dolls, and she was an animal lover-dogs,  cats, birds.        Survivors include three daughters,  Linda Waller, Winifred (Ronald) Ferguson, Karen (Maynard) Majerus;  six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Clara  Murphy, June (Murphy) Bowman, Rita Lickteig, Rena Lickteig,  Thomasine Farnsworth; many nieces and nephews including, Lois  Goodnature.        In addition to her husband, she is  preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Donald, Ernest  and Warren; sister, Dorothy Estes.        A Funeral Mass will be celebrated  1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Queen of Angels Catholic  Church with Father Dale Tupper officiating.  There will be a 4  pm CCW rosary and a 7 pm wake service on Tuesday at Mayer Funeral  Home where friends may call from 4-8 pm and also one hour before  the service at the church on Wednesday.  Interment will be in  Calvary Cemetery.        The honorary casket bearer will be  Matt Koopman.  The casket bearers will be Jason Ferguson,  Bernard Waller, Brian Waller, Betsy Moriarty, Kevin Moriarty and  Mark Goodnature.
