Ethan Malcolm Woodworth

Ethan Malcolm Woodworth, age 17, of Le Roy, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, surrounded by family and close friends at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. Ethan was born on March 20, 2006, in Austin, Minnesota to Malinda Winkels and Mark Woodworth. He spent most of his childhood attending Austin Public Schools and the family later moved to Grand Meadow and Le Roy where he attended Grand Meadow High School and then S.M.E.C. Ethan was to graduate in 2024. He was an outgoing and active young man who always had the most energetic smile. It’s no wonder Ethan had so many amazing friends. These friends have surrounded his family with so much love these past few weeks. Ethan was very active and competitive in hockey, football, and wrestling. He loved hunting and fishing with his mom and dad, Darren. Ethan looked forward to spending time in the summer with his Grandma and Grandpa Smith, fishing at their home up north. He loved his little brother Isiah. They picked on each other and wrestled around but they had the most amazing bond. Ethan loved to spend time with his friends, especially his special friend, Katherine. He will forever be missed and loved.

Ethan is survived by his parents, Malinda and Darren Winkels; birth father, Mark Woodworth; siblings, Austin, Kylie, Isiah, Charlotte, Brianna, Brittany, and Justin; grandparents, Steve and Connie Smith, and Daniel and Judy Winkels; godparents, Heather Novak, Jacob Smith, Josh Smith, and Jessica Nash; many uncles, aunts, and cousins; and special friends, Katherine, Brady, and Cody Hyrkas. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grandpa and Grandma Williams, Grandma Oni, and Grandpa and Grandma Smith; uncle, Randy; and cousin, Kyla Halverson.
