Doreen Gladys Adams

Doreen Gladys (Bechtel) Adams, age 87, of Austin, MN, went home to the Lord on October 6, 2025. Doreen was born in Buffalo Center Iowa, the daughter of William and Louise (Voss) Bechtel and one of ten children. She was a graduate of Sherburn High School and was always known to be “quick with the answers.”

She married John Adams on May 12, 1958. They lived a few years in Sheboygan, WI, before moving to Sherburn, MN. After living there for several years, they moved to Brownsdale, MN. Finally, they moved to Austin, MN, where she lived until her death.

Aside from being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Doreen worked a variety of jobs. She was a waitress, clerk, floor merchandiser, and an ice cream server. She also worked as an assistant in a floral shop creating flower arrangements for purchase as well as arrangements for holidays, weddings, and funerals. She spent many hours watching and supporting her purple and gold MN Vikings.

Doreen is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Tammy (Steve) Pfeifer, Laurie (Kerry) Dinges, and Julie Easton; grandchildren, Amy Gardner, Katy (Robert) Hodge, Travis Easton and Jeffery Easton; great-grandchildren, Cash Gardner, Lucy Gardner and RJ Hodge. She was preceded in death by her parents; eight siblings; and son-in-law, Scott Easton.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brownsdale, MN. Interment will be on Friday, October 17, 2025, in Sherburn, MN. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
