Dale Joseph Wacek

Dale Joseph Wacek, age 69, of Claremont, Minnesota, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024, at New Richland Care Center after his short battle with cancer. Dale was born on May 19, 1955, to Joseph Frank and Regina Mae (Jasperson) Wacek in Owatonna, Minnesota. He graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1973. Following graduation, he went on to begin a 27-year career as a machinist at OTC/Power Team in Owatonna. On January 2, 1976, Dale married the love of his life Susan Marie Elmore and together had 3 children. Tragically, his spirit was crushed when his youngest son died at age 19. Then again ten years ago when he lost his wife to cancer. Dale was a gun enthusiast and a proud lifelong member of the NRA. He enjoyed shooting everything from paper to clay pigeons to hunting animals. He enjoyed frequent prairie dog hunting trips to South Dakota with his 2 sons and good friend, Joe Peterson. As the son of a carpenter, Dale learned construction at a young age. Along with his own projects, he frequently helped friends and family with various building ventures. Dale also enjoyed training his hunting dogs, shooting pool, riding motorcycle, bowling and golf where he is a member of the hole in one club! He loved all his grandchildren and enjoyed parting his wisdom on them. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. 

Dale is survived by his children, Charity (Matt) Branstad of Bovey, Minnesota and Isreal (Ranell) Wacek of Blooming Prairie; grandchildren, Wyatt (Bailey Rohde) Branstad, Evan Branstad, Jayde Wacek, Carson Wacek, Cannon Wacek, Anna Kittelson, Drew Kittelson, and Brady Kittelson; siblings, Rita (David) Goodnature of Owatonna, Joseph Jr. (Vikki)Wacek of Booming Prairie, Thomas (Cheryl) Wacek of Owatonna, Donna Wigham of Blooming Prairie, Mary (Dale) Abrahams of Owatonna, Terry (Roxey) Wacek of Emmons, Janice (Duane) Reichl of Sebring, Florida, Marilyn (Jim) Severtson of Blooming Prairie, David (Kelly) Wacek of Owatonna, Tim (Mary) Wacek of Blooming Prairie, and Greg (Rochelle) Wacek of Owatonna; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Regina Wacek; wife, Susan Wacek in 2014; son, Richard Wacek in 1998; sister, Bernadetta Wacek; brother-in-law, Gary Wigham; and nephew, Brad Archer.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Dale from 12:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota with a time of sharing beginning at 2:15 p.m. Interment will take place at Litomysl Cemetery, rural Owatonna, Minnesota. Memorials are preferred to the family. Dale appreciated ease and comfort; therefore, the dress code will be very casual. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie is assisting the family with arrangements.
