Courtney L. Dudley, age 30, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, in Mankato after a hard-fought struggle with addiction. Courtney Lynn Thompson was born on August 29, 1995, in Austin, Minnesota, to Bradley Thompson and Teresa Haines. She attended high school in Hayfield and Austin. After high school she worked at the gas station in Brownsdale and Burger King in Austin. In 2020 Courtney married Brandon Dudley in Austin and together they were blessed with one son, Inari Lee Dudley. The couple later divorced. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling with her family to show pigeons for competition. She went with her parents on many road trips and to concerts. Courtney had a bubbly personality, was funny and very caring, and loved to tease her mom along with her brother, Cory. She was artistic and talented with writing and drawing. Courtney treasured every moment she spent with her son, Inari, and absolutely adored him.
Courtney is survived by her son, Inari Dudley of Prior Lake, Minnesota; parents, Teresa and Ed Walsh of Brownsdale; brother, Cory Harpuder of Richfield, Minnesota; paternal grandparents, Gilman and Nylene Thompson of Twin Lakes, Minnesota; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Brad Thompson; maternal grandparents, Veryl and Patricia Haines; and step-grandma, Elaine Walsh.
August is overdose awareness month. There are far too many lives lost every day. If there is someone in your life battling addiction reach out to them. The stigma of embarrassment and denial must be overcome.
