Corinne Mary Lenort

Corinne Mary Lenort, age 85, passed away on August 30, 2026, at Select Senior Living in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Corinne was born on June 4, 1941, to Christian and Louise (Siglowski) Wick in Wells, Minnesota, as the second of twelve children. Those early years were full of family relocations with different schools, friends, and responsibilities.

She graduated from Wells High School in 1959. On November 7 of the same year, she married Robert Lenort and relocated to Blooming Prairie. Not so much as relocated as their car broke down on their honeymoon all of 45 miles from home and they settled there. Together they welcomed four children. Corinne and ‘Bert’ divorced in 1974.

In 1976 Corinne married Marvin Heinz making their home in Owatonna. Marv’s family included several daughters that Mom wanted to acknowledge as being special in her life, Mary, Patti, Cheri and Nancy. Corinne and Marv separated and divorced in 1992.

Corinne returned to live with Bert until his death in 2003. Returning to Blooming Prairie meant often hosting festivities around holidays like the 4th of July (complete with onsite camping), Thanksgiving and Christmas. She enjoyed having extended family and friends at her home.

Corinne made the difficult decision to move away from Blooming Prairie in July 2023 and into senior living closer to her children in the Twin Cities.

Corinne had an amazing memory, and over the years read voraciously, kept gardens, sewed too many things to mention, worked seventeen years at Jerry’s Supper Club in many roles, served seventeen years operating the kitchen at REM Woodvale, volunteered at the local library, devoured crossword puzzles and endlessly played Yahtzee.

She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Lynn) and Dean; and daughters, Lorelei and Mercedes; as well as grandchildren, Geoff (Kelley) Lenort, Alexandra (Ralph) Clayton, Samara (Scott) Opatz, Reese and Nicole. In 2025 four great grandchildren were added including Tatum Opatz, and Cora, Clarke and Rook Clayton. She is also survived by sisters, Carol (Mark) Bergo, Nancy (Douglas Engstrom) Wick, and Janice (Brett Strauss) Peterson; and brother, Greg (Lois) Wick; many nieces and nephews.

Corinne was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kerry, Alan aka Butch (Donna), Wayne, Jeff and Bruce; and sisters, Elizabeth aka Betty Lou or Babe (David) Fuhs and Melissa (Brian Kuehl) Wick.

A celebration of life for Corinne will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie. Sharing of memories will take place at 2:00 p.m. followed by a social gathering and happy hour at the Servicemen’s Club. Corinne requested that if you have a pair of her pajama pants or other clothing she made that you wear them to the happy hour.

We want to thank Moments Hospice for the attention and care Corinne received in her final months.
