Clinton John Eliason, age 56, passed away on Saturday, January 24th, 2026, at the family home in Onalaska, Wisconsin. Clinton, known to most as “Clint”, was born on the McClellan Air Force Base near Sacramento, California to John “Jack” Fredrick and Nancy “Nanny” Ruth (Lightvoet) Eliason on June 7th, 1969. Clint was raised in Elmhurst, Illinois and graduated from York High School. He had a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University, and a teaching certificate from Northern Illinois University. On June 26th, 1999, he married Kathleen “Kat” Linaker in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada. After their daughter, Katherine, was born in 2006, Clint chose to stay home as her full-time parent until Katherine was in high school. He was then able to embrace his lifetime dream of becoming a teacher. He spent the next several years working in the Arcadia, Onalaska, Holmen, and La Crosse school districts, with his most recent position being at the La Crescent-Hokah Middle/High School as a science teacher. He absolutely loved teaching and always had entertaining stories to share about his interactions with his students. Teaching his students brought both great fulfillment and joy in his final years.
Throughout his life, Clint loved to go on road trips with family and friends, even when he never had a destination in mind or a GPS to find his way home. He loved to spend time with his family, whether it was by seeking out new places to sightsee, or “forcing” his wife and daughter to sit and eat “snicky-snacks” while watching his favorite movie, Pulp Fiction, on repeat. He enjoyed going on motorcycle rides, listening to what he considered “good” music (anything released before 1985), and he reveled in his honorary title as Judge Judy’s Number 1 Fan.
Clint is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kat Linaker; his daughter, Katherine Eliason; siblings, Geoff (Lisa) Eliason of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and Travis (Beth) Eliason of Elmhurst, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Emma, Logan, Madeleine, Reagan, and Maisy; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and the family dog, Biscuit. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31st, 2026, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin, Minnesota. The family plans to host an additional service this summer in the Chicago area for those who are unable to attend the January service. Memorials may be given to one of two funds that meant a great deal to Clint: the La Crescent Middle School Food Bank known as the Lancer Locker (checks may be sent to 1301 Lancer Boulevard, La Crescent, MN 55947, with “Clint Eliason” on the memo line) or his Aunt Diane’s Missionary Fund at https://give.worldventure.com/#/quick-gift/designation. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
