Clara Murphy

Clara Louisa Murphy, 75, of Austin, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Clara was born June 22, 1943, in Hayfield, MN, to John and Lillie Rubin. She grew up in Brownsdale and graduated from Hayfield High School. On November 3, 1962, Clara was united in marriage to Ernest L. Murphy at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. She worked as a teacher's aide in the Austin Public School system for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, traveling, sewing and reading. Clara is survived by her three children: Cathy (Tom) Hemish, Farmington, MN; Laura (Tony) Regner, Rochester, MN; Cheryl (Corey) Brunton, Mankato, MN; five grandchildren: Leah Hemish, Jessica Kroll, Ashley Brunton, Kristin Regner, and Tyler Brunton; two sisters Grace Lamb and Gladys Rubin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest, sister Marian Wendelken, and grandson Jacob Regner. A celebration of her life will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Mayer Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Christensen officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 am until the time of the service at Mayer Funeral Home on Saturday. Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com
