Chere Lynn Eng

Chere Lynn Eng, age 68, of Austin, MN, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, at her home. Chere was born August 10, 1957, in Lake Zurich, IL, the daughter of Rudy and Dorothy (Monninger) Kostan. She graduated from Lake Zurich High School and went on to attend Winona State University. Chere continued her education in Albert Lea for Cosmetology.

Chere loved people and being social, her children, Stephanie and Jeff, and her daily check in conversation with her sister, Jacque. Chere was a member of Cornerstone Church in Austin. Over the years she led by example for her children, showing them the benefits of hard work, dedication, and loving those around you. She also shared her love of animals, especially dogs, with her family. She spent most of her life in cosmetology around Austin working at Uptown Hair, JC Penny, Progressive Hair, Sterling, and several more. She really enjoyed serving the residents at St. Mark’s, Sacred Heart and Primrose out of love and the connection she shared with her clients. Most recently, Chere loved working as part of the Super Fresh family. She was a staple there, especially on Saturday mornings. She was known for her sassy personality, her style and fashion sense, and for being a wonderfully strong and independent woman and mother.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her children, Stephanie (Joe) Betley, Jeff Eng; sister, Jacque (Don) Hanson; and Golden Retriever, Pip. She was preceded in death by her parents and her dog and best friend, Zeus.

A celebration of life will be held from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home, Austin.

Memorials are preferred to RAGOM Golden Retriever Rescue. Services are performed by Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home of Austin.
