Cacilia "Ceil" Schmidt

Cacilia F. "Ceil" Schmidt, age 95, of Austin, died Monday, January 30, 2012 at Sacred Heart Care Center. Ceil was born December 29, 1916, the oldest child of Michael and Frances Tschida of Holdingford, Minnesota. After graduation, Ceil moved to St. Paul where she worked until her marriage to Herbert Schmidt in July 1937. They resided in Lyle, Minnesota until 1951 when they moved to Austin. Survivors include two daughters, Fran (Bill) Weidner, Austin, Mary Cottingham, Casa Grande, AZ; two sons, Herb (Marlene) Schmidt, Soquel, CA, Tom (Laura) Schmidt, Vacaville, CA; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; six sisters, Val, Rita, Louise, Leona, Doris, Helen; four brothers, Jerome, Robert, Michael, Ray. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert in 2004; son, Ralph in 1945; son-in-law, R.C. Cottingham; sisters, Bernadine Pjerskalla, Loretta Nielsen; brothers, Eugene Tschida, Leo Tschida. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Mayer Funeral Home.
